Do you any of you ladies on here know of a great brand of hair extensions (clip ins or bonded tips). I’ve tried a couple of different brands of clip-ins that were all real human hair but they’ve all been just okay. I’m looking into investing in another set soon. Let me know if you guys know of any brands that you would recommend. Thanks 🙂

I have been using clip in extensions from www.hellogorgeoushairextensions.com/ and I have been very pleased with them. They’re real human hair and I think a very good value for the money. Unlike numerous clip ins they’re very thick and dont shed much and they have high qualty clips so theyt dont slip out. The only real downside to them is that they take a very very long time to be made and shipped, I believe I waited about 2 months! The woman who runs the company may be very nice, though.

The last set of extensions i bought were actually from HelloGorgeous and I’m not too proud of them 🙁 They’re REALLY thick which was great for the price but mine start to feel like barbie hair after just a few minutes of wearing them and they get really tangled and nappy. After i wear them I should brush them constantly so I do not appear like a frizzy knotted mess! Maybe I just got a defective set haha. Thanks for your reply!

The one brand of clip in’s I’ve tried are Put on Pieces which worked well for me. I only use them once in a while for fun though, not everyday use. POP brand comes in both synthetic and human hair.

I’ve had both Hello Gorgeous and Luxy hair extensions and that i HIGHLY recommend Luxy. They’ve stayed amazing and I’ve ABUSED them.

Im gonna keep up with this thread. Ive been all in favour of extensions for a very long time. A very good friend of mine suggested it to me since I can make short hair look good during a hair flip.

I havent had long hair since the 6th grade! I have very thick and full hair – Its always shedding and a PITA to deal with within the summer. I also have 2 kids so its hard to take care of a mode that isnt wash n go!

My hair is red now so I also wish to look like Ariel as well, LOL!
omily
www.youtube.com/luxyhair is a good place to learn how to style and take care of extensions! 🙂

thanks omily! This is a new brand I’ve never heard of before, I am def going to check these out!

chipandcharHi! I have not tried hellogorgeous, but I started out with some 18″ ones I got at sally beauty. They were just around 100 and my hair is not super thick, so that they worked okay and i used them for about 3 months before they were too damaged. BUT I wanted some just a tiny bit longer, so I went with head kandy. They are not as expensive as hello gorgeous but I would say they’re comparible in quality from all that I’ve read! Luxy hair…love the youtube girls who run the company, but I feel the longest length availabe is 18″… Headkandy goes all the best way as much as 26″…so that you could cut them into the style you want and not lose the length. Mine were around 200 bucks and the shipping was super fast, though it was from the UK.

I get my hair extensions from donnabella.com I get the fusion kind. THey arent too exspensive, about $45 a bundle and are real human hair. I get 6 for my head they usually last for six months. You’ll be able to wash, cut, color, style, brush.. identical to your personal hair! Luv luv them. AS soon as take them out after 6 mo I’ve them put right back in. They have a video on easy methods to do it- you need a friend and the bonding machnie which is cheap too. Its the very best next to the actual thing. I get two different colors curly boho hairstyles in order that they blend well, blonde and strawberry blonde. One of the best!

I just realized I never posted a pic here! I’ll put a pic of my extensions

I have pink real hair extensions that are individual pieces by Hairlocs. I get them put in at my hair salon. They are tiny microbeads instead of using glue or whatever else to bond to the hair which does not damage your hair in any respect. I like having color hair extensions for fun within the summertime. I switch it up and get purple too. These extensions do not fade and you’ll keep re-using them if you are taking good care of them. It does get expensive though. My salon sells them at $10 a bit. I’ll take an image of my hair soon and post it. I hope this helps.

This blog has been so helpful because I plan on purchasing my first hair extensions. Unfortuntaly, I have to do it online (which sort of scares me) because I am unable to seem to search out a place that sells them near me (I live in San Jose, Ca/Bay Area). I need clip-ons because I don’t need to wear them every day, just for special occasions.

I’m in search of “natural wavy” clip on (100% human remy hair) with a length that goes just under my bra strap.. so I am assuming I need 18-20 inches I feel like all the website only offer straight hair extensions.

I initally went to a perfectlocks.com and I was just about to buy after i decided to read some reviews and ended up reading some bad ones. So thats when I discovered this blog that was pretty helpful. Luxy Hair seems nice but again, I feel that they only offer straight extensions.

Any recommendations on natural wavy clip-on hair extensions Or if you’re in the Bay Area, are you aware of a place where I can acutally see and feel them I need to wear them for a wedding on Nov 12th.

This is the brand one of the best salon around here uses and swears by [www.yellowstrawberryhair.com]

They’ve been the featured salon all over, bets in show etc etc
If they trust them, I trust them!

You may curl them, color, cut, whatever so I wouldnt worry a lot concerning the wave. After you wash them a couple of times, they really do have their very own natural wave and bend regardless that they come staright. I buy the straight (have the fusion) and they bend and swirl around my natural hair within per week very nicely..I have natural wavy hair. The wavy was very unruly and tangled al lot after i tried them, I might steer clear of them! I wouldnt have dreamed of ordering staright because I have wavy hair- however it worked significantly better. It is much easier to curl the straight yourelf in with your natural hair- blends sooo significantly better. With the clip ons, you cancurl them and take away and the curl will stay in too

They are available in 16 and 20″ – the 20 is basically long! I bought the 20″ first and was a mistake. Ended up cutting it – was all the solution to my waist! lol

I also love the fusion, but understand if that you must take them out.I cant put the clip ins in by myself- was so time consuming. I am so used to them it is rather like my hair. 🙂

So glad I discovered this post! As lots of you know, I had all my hair chopped off from a student! My fault for expecting a pleasant trim for $6.00! (See my phones, long hair, and then I posted one in every of my short hair with the “BOO” sign.

I have not made one vid. since my hair was lost, I just do not feel sexy enough. So, I am going to look at this post in additional detail this weekend and buy some extensions! Thanks for the data!

I have clip ins that I like from hairextensions.com. Does anyone have an issue with wearing them while they pole Sometimes mine pull out if I flip my hair. I’ve really fine hair, so is there any way of getting them to stay in a bit better

Lyme LyteBought some clips. Now think about this…..if they r all the identical lenght and u sttach them to ur head at different levels, yout going too see each step along the bottom n the back! I got some yesterday, put them n and they give the impression of being terrible! Whats the hint on putting these in

@Lyme Lyte – I feel there’s a FINE ART to getting hair extensions to looking nice and natural, not less than for me. I’ve had a few years of trial and error.

One thing that helped my clip ins to look more natural and blend better – have your hairdresser layer, blend and trim them. I know that sounds weird but I have pretty short, fine hair. After i get hair extensions, whether sew in, glued in, bonded in, beaded in or clipped in, I always have my hairdresser layer them to help them blend and look more natural. If I don’t get my extensions super layered, they appear very, very unnatural and fake in my hair. Undecided if this works for everybody but it works for me. 🙂

Im bumping this thread as a consequence of my last experience with extensions. I bought mine from Sallys beauty supply. For the set it was $100 and that i needed to dye them to match my hair. You probably have a beauty club card it can save you a number of bucks on them, plus they were on sale at $10 off so I saved about $15! I bought extensions near my natural hair color so when I dye them, they’d produce the identical reaction and match exactly to my hair. After putting the dye on them I let them sit for about 30min, since its virgin hair the color will pick up faster than your individual hair. I washed them out identical to I’d do with my very own hair then let them air dry. Then I combed them out (wide comb, I believe they make ones only for hair extensions). Then they clip right in and they hold nicely. I may have to get a second set since I have super thick hair and im undecided if they look right in.

I also reccomend getting a case for them. I have one so my kids dont attempt to get them out and play with them!

Lyme LyteYes, mine from Sallys r good for the price. I had to trim and layer mine, but they look good in. I too have a case to maintain my cat away from them! 🙂

HairChik664My first set ever I bought at sallys. Horrible idea. After that I got into doing a whole lot of research online and found Foxy Locks extensions. I fell in love and orderd a set. It didn’t take long in any respect to receive, the owner ( who is only 23), Imogen…is such a sweet heart. Any questions I had she answered straight away, not to mention her YouTube channel has hundreds on do-it yourself styles to your extensions done step-by-step. I was worried a bit after I got them… A bit bit of the hair fell out, not much though. Anyway… To make an extended story short, its been almost 2 years since I’ve had them and I’m still wearing them daily. And let’s put it this manner, I flat out do not/never took care if them the way in which I should have. They’re still going strong! Once i recently went to order more from foxylocks… She was currently out of stock, so I moved onto Hello Gorgeous. Now I am somewhat nervous at my decision because I’ve read Sooo many places they take so ln
